As always Latvian drifters are already training for their event on 08-08. It is getting already a normal thing to train for few weeks for upcoming event to become at least a bit competitive with drifters from other countries...

Rhys Millen Pikes Peak climb record

Rhys Millen, famous Formula Drift driver in USA takes part in Pikes Peak hill climb. Driving Red-Bull Hyundai Genesis Coupe he made a new 2WD world record.

Kestas bodykit is getting ready for repaint..

The works at new Kestas Nissan are coming to the end, the bodykit is getting refreshed too. The black sideskirts and bumpers were cleaned and will be freshly painted in a very nice color...

After removing cheap paint from bumpers...

bumpers and sideskirts are almost ready for painting... it will not be painted in black.. or pink... guess what color will it be ? :)

A guest from "another world"

This week we had a guest, one of the most interesting models in our garage. It is Honda S2000 with rollcage and only very light body, everything prepared for circuit racing. Some pictures:

International drift event in Latvia 08.08

August 8, (Saturday) 2009

Event place - Ryga, Latvia, Bikerniki racing circuit - the big track.

Street and PRO league stages

The third stage will take place in Bikerniki racing track.

There will be 3 leagues on the event day.

First - Lithuanian and Latvian. Second- X-treme drift PRO (Finland). Third - Stars (guests).

There will be 2 different track configurations. The slow one will be for participants without roll-cage. The faster track will have a longer acceleration distance and extreamly fast first turn.

14:10 - training session (SLOW track, LT, LV participants)
17:10 - track cleaning
17:20 - training session (FAST track for participants with roll-cage, participants from LV, LT, FI, NO, RU, PL,X-treme)
19:30 - first day end.

August 8 (Saturday)
7:00 - 11:00 - registration & tech. check
11:15 - 11:30 - first briefing
11:30 - 13:30 - training session (SLOW track)
13:30 - track cleaning
13:40 - 15:40 - training session (FAST track)
15:40 - track cleaning
15:45 - second briefing
16:00 - 18:00 - qualification (SLOW track)
18:00 - 20:00 - qualification (FAST track)
20:00 - spectators in
20:00 - 20:45 - brake
21:00 - Tsuiso battles, LT & LV (SLOW track)
22:20 - Tsuiso battles X-treme Drift (FIN) league
23:10 - Tsuiso battles All Stars Race (FAST track)
24:00 - award ceremony

*SLOW track - participants are not required to have roll-cage
*FAST track - participants are REQUIRED to have at least 6-point roll-cage.

One more accident in the track. There was an accident on the first event this year, when "Doc" slid out of track and hit sidewall. His nissan and the wall were heavy damaged. Video from stage 2 crash:
